"The Awards just keep coming"

The Club has received yet another award by once again winning the Manchester FA Charter Standard Community Club of the Year for 2009. The FA continues to recognise all the hard work undertaken by Urmston Meadowside within the local community. This is the second consecutive year that the Club has won the award and is also the 4th time that we have achieved this recognition having won it in 2003, 2005, 2008 and now, this year. Four Members of the Executive Committee were invited to Manchester FA in Salford on the evening of Thursday 11th June to be presented with the Award plaque. The picture shows Dave Wright, our vice chairman receiving the plaque from Frank Hannah (President of Manchester FA). Also in the picture are Sue Richardson, Dave Stead and Jim Brown. There was also a unique opportunity for all award winners to have their photo taken with the silverware won by Manchester United during the season just finished. The other photo shows our 4 club officials with the Carling Cup, the Manchester Senior Cup, the Premiership Trophy and the World Club Trophy - you can imagine the comments made by Jim Brown to the other 2 'Daves' who are both City fans !!
