Meds Meteors v Unicorn Metros

Meds Meteors v Unicorn Metros

Sunday 25/09/11
Venue Flixton Fields
Ko 1030am
Team-Craig,Adam,James Wil.,Callum,Sam Eck.,Chris,Jordan S.,Jack,Alex,Andre,James Wo. Subs; Jordan W,Arran,Joe T.
After defeat the previous week the Meteors were determined to bounce back against a good Unicorn team and the lads had the best of a scrappy first half which saw them force a number of goalmouth scrambles,James coming close with a header off the post. However,as with the last game,we could not get the goal we deserved and were punished when a speculative shot from outside the box spun out of Craig's hands into the net.
The lads began the second half in a determined fashion and were rewarded with two goals in quick succession from James Wood, with an assist from Joe Thomas.Meds then controlled the rest of the game and looked to finish Unicorn off but were unable to convert any more chances. This nearly cost them at the end when a free kick was tipped onto the bar in an incredible save from Craig.Meds ran out 2-1 winners in a competetive game against a Unicorn team who never gave up and showed they have the quality to push any team this season-Good luck to you.
Goals-James Wood 2
MoM-Adam Fenton -Solid no nonsense defending.
