AFC Urmston Meadowside operates football teams and coaching facilities for both boys and girls across a range of age groups from Under 7s through to Under 18s. The Club also has open age teams for both men and women. The Club is locally known as "MEDS" and has one of the largest player memberships in the Trafford area and surrounding districts. There are over 550 players registered with the Club. It runs both mini-soccer (seven-a-side) and eleven-a-side football.
