AFC Urmston Meadowside History

AFC Urmston Meadowside was founded in 1977 and was originally known as Meadowside Athletic FC. The Club started with just one team and has grown from strength to strength during its 31 year existence and now operates 36 teams across the junior, youth and senior age ranges. MEDS has a history of success on the playing side with many league championships and cup winners as well as numerous summer Tournament triumphs. The Club has also had teams which have won the Manchester County FA Youth Cup. Its fine reputation over the years has been built around its simple overriding mission statement:
" To support the local community by providing football opportunities for all"
The Club's progress and stability is reflected in its infrastructure with the current Chairman having been associated with the Club since it was first formed and other members boasting over 10 years service.
